The Journey to Becoming a Needcraft Instructor
How did Teacher Claire become a needlecraft instructor?
It all began with an opportunity to study Fashion Design with several experienced instructors who had graduated from France. She learned everything from fashion design and pattern making to both hand sewing and machine sewing. As she watched her instructors teach with passion and confidence, Claire often found herself thinking:
“One day, I would love to teach like them.”
With her background in fashion, Claire began incorporating various types of needlecraft into her own fashion creations — including crochet, knitting, and embroidery. This experience inspired her to share the fundamentals of sewing, embroidery, knitting, and crochet with people of all ages, from children to adults.
For children, handicraft activities can be a fun way to encourage creativity, concentration, and hands-on learning. For adults, needlecrafts can provide a relaxing creative outlet while also helping them stay focused and engaged.
As Claire gained more teaching experience, she met learners with many different learning styles and abilities. This encouraged her to develop a more flexible approach to teaching, adapting each lesson to suit the individual learner.
At Studio Claire, learning is not just about watching or listening. It’s about learning by doing.
Every workshop is designed to give learners the opportunity to practice, experiment, and create something with their own hands. And at the end of the workshop, everyone gets to take home their very own DIY creation — something they made themselves, with their own creativity and effort.
Because for Claire, teaching handicrafts is not only about learning a skill.
It’s about discovering creativity, enjoying the process, and being proud of what you can create with your own hands.
กว่าจะมาเป็นครูสอนงานฝีมือ
เริ่มต้นจากการที่ครูแคลร์ได้มีโอกาสเรียนแฟชั่นดีไซน์กับอาจารย์ที่เรียนจบจากฝรั่งเศสหลายท่าน ทั่งออกแบบ ทำแพทเทิร์น เย็บด้วยมือและเย็บจักร เวลาที่เห็นอาจารย์สอน ครูแคลร์บอกตัวเองว่าเราอยากสอนเหมือนอาจารย์บ้าง ด้วยความที่ครูแคลร์นำงานถักมาประยุกต์ใช้ในงานแฟชั่นของตัวเอง ทั้งงานถักโครเชต์ งานนิตติ้ง รวมถึงผสมผสานงานปักผ้าเป็นบางส่วน ทำให้ครูแคลร์อยากถ่ายทอดงานเย็บปักถักร้อยขั้นพื้นฐานแก่ผู้ที่สนใจทั่วไปทั้งเด็กและผู้ใหญ่ โดยเฉพาะเด็กๆจะสนุกกับกิจกรรมงานฝีมือมากทำให้มีความคิดสร้างสรรค์ และ ฝึกสมาธิ ในส่วนของผู้ใหญ่ งานฝีมือจะทำให้ผ่อนคลาย และฝึกสมาธิเช่นกัน พอฝึกสอนไปเรีอยๆก็จะเจอผู้เรียนหลากหลายรูปแบบทำให้ครูแคลร์ออกแบบการเรียนการสอนให้เหมาะกับวิธีการเรียนรู้ของผู้เรียนแต่ละคน และเน้นการฝึกปฏิบัติทำจริง พอเข้าเวิร์คชอปแล้วผู้เรียนทุกคนต้องนำส่งผลงาน DIY ของตัวเองได้ เวิร์คชอปส่วนใหญ่จะเรียนตัวต่อตัว (Private Class) แล้วพบกันที่ Studio Claire!
